Moitié du combo jazz-funk Yussef Kamaal et membre de United Vibrations avec ses frères, Yussef Dayes participe activement au renouveau de la scène jazz londonienne. Le jeune batteur élevé aux albums de jazz des années 60 trace désormais sa route en solo. Inspiré par une multitude d’influences, de l’afro beat au dubstep en passant par la bossa nova, il s’impose par sa technique comme l’un des percussionnistes les plus talentueux de la nouvelle garde britannique.

As one half of the jazz-funk combo Yussef Kamaal and a member, with his brothers, of United Vibrations, Yussef Dayes is an active participant in the revival of the London jazz scene. The young drummer, raised on 60s jazz albums, has now gone solo. With a wide range of inspirations, from afrobeat to dubstep to bossa nova, his technical skills have earned him the reputation as one of the most talented percussionists of Britain’s new generation.
