Découvert aux Trans Musicales de Rennes en décembre 2023, Nusantara Beat est un sextet implanté à Amsterdam qui rassemble des membres de Jungle By Night, POM, The Mysterons, Altın Gün et Surf Aid-Kit et puise son inspiration dans le répertoire traditionnel indonésien. Dans le sillage d’Altin Gün qui mettait au goût du jour la scène pop-rock turque des années 1970, Nusantara Beat plonge des standards balinais dans un grand bain de jouvence psychédélique. Nusantara signifie “archipel” en indonésien. Les morceaux du combo jettent des ponts entre percussions du gamelan, motifs de guitare surf et lignes de basses funky. Un patchwork chatoyant qui a pour fil conducteur le sens du groove et la voix radieuse de la chanteuse Megan de Klerk.
