Né d’une passion frénétique pour la « chanson », Keg marche sur une fine ligne entre le battement angulaire des sensibilités post-rock contemporaines et un besoin intemporel d’harmonie et d’écriture méticuleuse. S’inspirant de leurs prédécesseurs Minutemen, Fugazi et Radio 4, le groupe cherche à brouiller les frontières des genres, tout en restant principalement ancré dans l’univers du rock.
Armé de sept musiciens, Keg génère une énergie frénétique et chaotique. Guitares acérées, lignes de synthé bancales, ponctuées de trombone, offrant un aperçu du cerveau d’un homme en pleine confusion. Le groupe refuse de se cantonner à une seule approche, aussi à l’aise dans un son college rock que hardcore. C’est cette indécision qui pousse Keg à explorer sans cesse de nouveaux horizons, plongeant aussi bien dans des paysages ambient que dans une écriture mélodique.
C’est sur scène que KEG prend tout son sens. Ils ont fait leurs preuves à Greenman (Big Top), Latitude (Sunrise Arena), Sur Le Sac (CH), Sacred Ground (DE), End of The Road (Big Top), Dour Festival (BE), Vida Festival (ES) et ont su fédérer un public fidèle à travers le Royaume-Uni et l’Europe.
Le groupe a sorti deux EPs acclamés par la critique, Assembly (2021) et Girders (2022), attirant l’attention de Loud and Quiet, NME, Dork, So Young, ainsi que le soutien de BBC Radio 6 et Radio X. DIY est un fervent défenseur du groupe, leur offrant une place de choix dans leur prestigieuse « Class of 2023 ».
Ils reviennent avec leur premier album tant attendu, Fun’s Over, prévu pour début 2025—et le chaos reprendra de plus belle.

Erupting from a frenzied passion for the ‘song’, Keg toe a fine line between the angular throb of contemporary post-rock sensibilities and a timeless necessity for harmony and meticulous songwriting. Taking hints and tips from their forebears Minutemen, Fugazi and Radio 4 the band intend to confound genre, but mainly stick to the rock arena.
Armed with 7 musicians, Keg creates a frantic chaotic energy. Barbed guitars, wonky synth lines, peppered with trombone, and a glimpse into a confused man’s brain. The band rarely rest easy on one approach, equally happy to explore a college rock sound as a hardcore one. Its this indecision which leads Keg to continue to push their sound further, delving into ambient landscapes and melodic songwriting.
It is the live arena, where KEG is understood best, they’ve earnt their stripes at Greenman (Big Top), Latitude (Sunrise Arena), Sur Le Sac (CH), Sacred Ground (DE), End of The Road (Big Top), Dour Festival (BE), Vida Festival (ES) and built a loyal following of fans across the UK and Europe.
The band have released two critically acclaimed EPs ‘Assembly’ (2021) and ‘Girders’ (2022), garnering attention from Loud and Quiet, NME, Dork, So Young and support from BBC radio 6 and Radio X. DIY are real champions of the band, awarding them a slot in their prestigious Class of 2023.
They return with their anxiously awaited debut ‘Fun’s Over’ early 2025, and the chaos will ensue.
