America’s NPR described her as a limber lyricist; The Irish Times credited her with contextualising Irish hip hop; and RTÉ said that her music marries art with a passion for justice and social change.
Denise Chaila’s single CHAILA and accompanying Other Voices performance at the National Gallery catapulted her into ‘household name’ territory this summer. Almost overnight, she became the highest charting female artist in Ireland.
On 28th August, Denise releases ‘Holy Grail’, the second single from her upcoming mixtape, on narolane records. A song that dreams big dreams, Denise is in the process of realising hers. The release comes a day ahead of a once-off televised performance with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. RTÉ Shine features Denise Chaila and fellow chart topper Dermot Kennedy performing with the orchestra at the National Concert Hall. The programme airs on RTÉ One.
