cumgirl8 s’est rencontré lors d’un sex chat il y a 8000 ans dans un autre métavers. Composé de Lida Fox (basse), Veronika Vilim (guitare), Chase Lombardo (batterie) et Avishag Rodrigues (guitare), le groupe restitue l’énergie immersive et chaotique du cyberespace dans notre monde, s’unissant pour produire un son sans frontières qui s’étend brillamment à des artistes comme ESG, Cocteau Twins, Suicide, CSS, B-52s, The Shangri-Las, Chris & ; Cosey, Madonna, et bien d’autres encore.
L’année dernière, cumgirl8 a partagé son premier EP 4AD phantasea pharm, enregistré, mixé et masterisé entièrement à partir de bandes analogiques. L’EP de six titres fait suite au single » dumb bitch » (2022) et à leurs deux autres EP, cumgirl8 (2020) et RIPcumgirl8 (2021). Tout autant que la musique elle-même, les performances live incendiaires de cumgirl8 sont brillamment chaotiques et emblématiques de l’esprit de l’art de la performance new-yorkaise. L’année dernière, le groupe a joué à guichets fermés dans la nouvelle salle new-yorkaise Knitting Factory at Baker Falls (anciennement The Pyramid Club), a fait la première partie de Le Tigre lors d’une tournée canadienne à guichets fermés, a fait une tournée européenne et britannique en tête d’affiche, et a participé à des festivals tels que Primavera, The Great Escape, Greenman, Core Festival, Loose Ends, etPitchfork Paris, pour n’en citer que quelques-uns.

Last year, cumgirl8 shared their debut 4AD EP phantasea pharm, recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely from analog tape. The six-track EP followed stand-alone single ‘dumb bitch’(2022) and their two other EPs, cumgirl8 (2020) and RIPcumgirl8 (2021). As much as the music itself, cumgirl8’s incendiary live performances are brilliantly chaotic and emblematic of the spirit of New York performance art. Last year, the band played a sold-out show at New York’s newest venue Knitting Factory at Baker Falls (formerly The Pyramid Club), a stint supporting Le Tigre on a sold-out Canadian run, a headline EU/UK tour, and a festival run that included spots at Primavera, The Great Escape, Greenman, Core Festival, Loose Ends, and
Pitchfork Paris just to name a few.
