Les DJs et producteurs Gernot Bronsert et Sebastian Szary, alias MODESELEKTOR, n’ont plus vraiment besoin d’être présentés.
Depuis le début des années 2000, ils forment un duo incontournable de la scène techno berlinoise, profondément enracinés à Berlin-Est.
Après de nombreuses tournées, ils sont devenus un groupe internationalement reconnu.
Parallèlement, Bronsert et Szary ont fondé le label Monkeytown Records, véritable carrefour créatif au sein de l’univers MODESELEKTOR. Ils y produisent non seulement leurs propres morceaux, mais aussi ceux de nombreux autres artistes de différents genres.
Il est clair que MODESELEKTOR repose sur l’amitié, l’ouverture d’esprit et un optimisme éclectique envers la musique électronique. IDM, hip-hop, UK Bass, breaks, house, ambient : MODESELEKTOR s’est lancé à corps perdu dans tous les styles, offrant ainsi une grande variété à leur musique. Sans oublier les nombreuses collaborations avec des producteurs et musiciens internationaux, et bien sûr leurs amis. Par exemple, sur leur album Monkeytown, on peut entendre Thom Yorke de Radiohead. MODESELEKTOR a également collaboré avec Tommy Cash, Flohio, Siriusmo, Blixa Bargeld, Iggor Cavalera, Catnapp, Otto Von Schirach, Paul St. Hilaire, Omar Souleyman, Anti Pop Consortium, Miss Platnum et bien d’autres. Bronsert et Szary ne font qu’un ; ils n’ont jamais vraiment travaillé séparément pendant toutes ces années.

The DJs and producers Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary aka MODESELEKTOR don’t really need much of an
introduction. Since the early 2000s they have been a duo in the Berlin techno scene, deeply rooted in East Berlin, and
many tours later they have become a worldwide established act. In the meantime, the duo Bronsert and
Szary became founders of the label Monkeytown Records, which has been a creative convergence in the
MODESELEKTOR universe. Not only are they releasing their own music, but also for many other acts in different
genres.
It is clear that the basis for MODESELEKTOR was friendship and openness, and an eclectic optimism towards
electronic music. Whether it was IDM, Hip Hop, UK Bass, Breaks, House and Ambient, MODESELEKTOR dived into
everything head first, which gave an interesting variety on the entire music. You can’t forget all the features and
international producers, musicians and of course their friends. For instance, on their album Monkeytown, you can hear
Thom Yorke from Radiohead. Also, MODESELEKTOR collaborated with Tommy Cash, Flohio, Siriusmo, Blixa Bargeld,
Iggor Cavalera, Catnapp, Otto Von Schirach, Paul St. Hilaire, Omar Souleyman, Anti Pop Consortium, Miss Platnum
and many more. Bronsert and Szary are fused together — they’ve never actually really done any projects separately
